Dinosaurs Everywhere!
It seems like the touristy places in Arizona seem to focus on rocks and gems, Indian artifacts and — for some reason — dinosaurs. We ran into a couple friendly ones who photo bombed our selfie.

Star Gazing in Arizona
Last night I did some stargazing. The photo could be crisper, but you get the idea. The conditions couldn't be better. It was a cool, clear night, we're at 5,700 feet elevation and other than some ambient light from the neighboring RVs, there's absolutely nothing closer than Winslow, 20 miles away. It was spectacular.
Should I add that we're staying less than five miles from Meteor Crater?

Meteor Crater, AZ
Even though Arizona and New Mexico are both on Mountain Time, they can't agree on the Daylight Savings thing. As a result, we gained an hour for extra sightseeing. Our RV park is 20 miles from anywhere, except a massive meteor crater. It's pretty awesome. I'm just glad we weren't in the area 50,000 years ago. There wasn't time to duck.

Jim & Liz’s RV Trip Tracker
After a week in Albuquerque, today we headed westward. We drove through heavy winds and dust storms, negotiated tumbleweeds blowing across the interstate and crossed the Continental Divide. When it wasn't dusty, we saw some spectacular scenery. Tonight's stop is Gallup, NM, which bills itself as "the most patriotic small town in America." It was also a popular location for Hollywood westerns in the 40s and 50s.

Tucumcari, New Mexico
Home tonight is along historic Route 66 in Tucumcari, NM. Our RV is parked in the lot of the "Cactus," one of the old motels that line this strip of the highway. Many of the other motels are closed, but the owners of this property had the foresight to turn it into a small no-frills RV park. It's convenient, we walked to dinner. Not surprisingly, there are some interesting sights along this historic highway they call the "Mother Road."

Easter morning
Easter morning mass at historic St Edwards Catholic Church. This beautiful building is almost a century old.
